Jessie Lazar: Kintsugi Workshop (Sept 26th, 2026)

$95.00
sold out

KINTSUGI WORKSHOP
SATURDAY, SEPT 26th
1-3PM

Kintsugi translates to ‘golden joinery’, a mending technique deeply rooted in the Japanese ‘wabi sabi’ tradition. Finding elegance in imperfection. Instead of trying to hide cracks or damage, this technique highlights them with precious metals, making the fracture lines a beautiful part of the object's history.

Each student will be provided a ceramic piece to mend in class and their own Kintsugi repair kit to use and then take home for future projects. If you have a special piece at home you’d like to mend in the workshop, send an email to see if it’ll work! Otherwise one will be provided.

Sullivan Public founder, Jessie Lazar, will be hosting the next session in her series of hand-building workshops. Jessie has been teaching ceramics for nearly 20 years at a range of NYC studios, most recently holding sold-out classes at Gasworks in Brooklyn. She loves to teach and brings new skills and techniques to each class held at Sullivan Public.

Workshop limited to 14 participants
